This is an improvement request to existing functionality.
Allow the option "Include field in text based searches" to be selected even if the field is not displayed in the list view.
Reasoning
There are times when information in a field is valuable in the search but makes a list view complicated or ugly.
An example would be a "library" component that has a book which is a compilation of poems by many authors. A user might want to search for authors, but we don't want to display all of the authors on the list view, we just want to display the authors on the item detail view.
This would remove another item from post build modifications.
